AAFRIKA LOOD EKRAANIL: THE RISING DAWN

Tallinna naabruskondade kultuuriõhtute neljas ja viimane kohtumine toob meid kokku Paavli Kultuurivabrikusse.

Tule veeda meiega mõnus pühapäeva pärastlõuna Aafrika muusika, toidu, kultuuri ja kogukonna keskel.

Alates kell 15:00 mängib DJ Aafrika muusikat ning Ify’s Kitchen pakub Lääne-Aafrika toitu.

Kell 18:00 toimub dokumentaalfilmi "The Rising Dawn” linastus.

The Rising Dawn viib meid Côte d’Ivoire’i rannikule ja jälgib surfipioneer Souleymane Sidibé lugu ning tema ümber kasvavat surfikultuuri.

Film räägib noortest, kogukonnast, kultuurilistest barjääridest ja suhtest ookeaniga ning annab pilgu kaasaegse Aafrika surfikultuuri kujunemisse Côte d’Ivoire’is.

AFRICAN STORIES ON SCREEN: THE RISING DAWN

The fourth and final gathering of our cultural neighbourhood project brings us together at Paavli Kultuurivabrik.

Join us for a relaxed Sunday afternoon of African music, food, culture and community.

From 15:00, a DJ will set the atmosphere with African music while Ify’s Kitchen serves West African food.

At 18:00, we screen the documentary "The Rising Dawn".

🎬 THE RISING DAWN

The Rising Dawn takes us to the coast of Côte d’Ivoire and follows Souleymane Sidibé, a pioneer of the country's growing surf culture.

Through his story, the documentary explores young people, community, cultural barriers and their relationship with the ocean, while offering a glimpse into the development of a modern African surf culture in Côte d’Ivoire.
